‘Attack is the best defense…’, controversial statement of Pakistan’s first CDF Munir, next time the answer will be more strict.

Asim Munir Statement: Pakistan’s first Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) Asim Munir once again showed an aggressive stance in his inaugural speech. Reiterating the policy of ‘Attack is the best defence’, he made strong statements on India and Afghanistan and termed any doubt on Pakistan’s military capability as baseless.

Addressing the three forces at the new CDF headquarters, Munir issued a direct warning to the Afghan Taliban. According to media outlet ‘Geo’, he said that Afghanistan will have to decide whether it will support ‘Fitna al-Khawari’ or Pakistan. According to him, Afghanistan has no third option. This statement is considered important in the context of increasing border tension and terrorist incidents in recent months.

Pakistan’s reaction will be faster than before

Munir also repeated his old stance against India. He claimed that if any action were taken, Pakistan’s response would be “swifter, more severe and more stringent than before”. This statement has come at a time when Pakistan is struggling with economic and political challenges, yet the military leadership continues to adopt harsh language towards India.

He also gave clarification on the questions being raised regarding his post. He said the objective of the CDF designation is not to interfere in the three services but to develop a strong and integrated command system. The autonomy of the three services will remain intact and each service will continue to function with its own identity.

Unified Tri-Services Framework Mandatory

Munir further said that the need for multi-domain operations has further increased in the modern security scenario. Therefore, a unified tri-services framework is essential, which will improve inter-service coordination and also increase operational efficiency. He said that the formation of Defense Forces Headquarters is a big step in this direction, which will streamline strategic cooperation in all areas.

Describing Pakistan as a peace-loving country, Munir said that the desire for peace should not be considered a weakness. He made it clear that Pakistan will not compromise on its territorial integrity and grassroots unity under any circumstances.
