During his visit to Wana area of ​​South Waziristan, he gave a stern warning to the Afghan Taliban on the issue of border security and terrorism.

According to the statement issued by ISPR, the media wing of Pakistan Army, Munir clearly said that the use of Afghanistan’s land against Pakistan will not be accepted in any way. After his strict stance, an atmosphere of sensation has been created in Pakistan.

Marshal Asim Munir visited Wana area of ​​South Waziristan and took stock of the current situation on the border. During this, he was given detailed information about border management and intelligence based operations (IBOs).

They were also briefed on recent developments and ongoing military operations. While reviewing the preparations of the troops, the Army Chief directed the officers to further strengthen the border security.

Use of Afghan land will not be tolerated

According to the ISPR statement, Munir expressed strong objection to anti-Pakistan activities from Afghan soil. He said, ‘The use of Afghan soil by terrorists against Pakistan will not be tolerated and all necessary steps will be taken to neutralize the threat coming from across the border.’

He also reiterated that lasting peace between the two countries is possible only when Afghanistan changes its policies. Munir said, ‘Peace can be maintained between the two sides only when the Afghan Taliban gives up terrorism and support to terrorist organizations.’

Background of ‘Operation Gajab-Lil-Haq’

This visit of the Army Chief has come at a time when Pakistan has recently launched a major military operation against Afghanistan. On the night of 26 February, Pakistan had launched ‘Operation Ghajab-lil-Haq’.

This action was taken in response to the alleged attacks in which the Afghan Taliban is accused of targeting 53 different locations along the 2600 km long border.

Continuous allegations regarding TTP

Pakistan has been claiming for a long time that groups like banned organization TTP are getting safe haven in Afghanistan. There is constant tension in the relations between the two countries due to cross-border activities.
