Mirzapur, 17 February. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma paid darshan and worship at Vindhyavasini Devi temple, the presiding deity of Vindhya region on Monday night. His religious rituals were performed by local BJP MLA and priest Ratnakar Mishra. During this period, strict security arrangements were made in the temple premises and surrounding areas. The Chief Minister reached the temple by road from Varanasi, where he was welcomed by the local administration and public representatives.
Sub-Collector Gulab Ram was also present for the welcome. Speaking to reporters in the temple complex, Sarma targeted opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and described his statements as undemocratic. He said that the problem of infiltration still persists in Assam and the state government is continuously taking action. According to him, till now about 50 thousand acres of land has been vacated and 100 to 150 infiltrators are being driven out every day. On the question related to history, he opposed the idea of giving equal respect to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Tipu Sultan.
Sarma said that Shivaji is known as a ‘Hindu savior’, while history has a different view of Tipu Sultan. Referring to the Vindhya Corridor construction work, he praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He said that compared to two years ago, a vast change is being seen in the area now. The administration remained alert regarding the Chief Minister’s darshan program. MLA Ratnakar Mishra came from Lucknow and kept monitoring the arrangements himself.
That is not the real Babri Masjid…
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma took a dig at suspended Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir’s announcement of building ‘Babri Masjid’ in Murshidabad, West Bengal, saying that it is not the real Babri Masjid but its replica. Speaking to reporters in Mirzapur on Monday, Sharma said on a question asked about suspended Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir’s announcement of building ‘Babri Masjid’ in Murshidabad, West Bengal, “It is not the real Babri Masjid. It is a dummy. When the real one is no longer there, what will the dummy do?”
Suspended Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir has announced to build Babri Masjid in Murshidabad. Political controversy has arisen regarding this and statements are being made. Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad had appealed to the people of Uttar Pradesh to march to Murshidabad in protest against this. The disputed Babri structure in Ayodhya was demolished by Kar Sevaks on December 6, 1992. While giving its decision in this case on November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court had ordered to build a Ram temple at the disputed site and to give five acres of land at a prominent place in Ayodhya to the Muslims to build a mosque. The construction of Ram temple has been completed but no work has started yet on the five acres of land given to Uttar Pradesh Sunni Waqf Board for building the mosque.
