Assam Election 2026 : Assam : In Assam, the battle for assembly elections is going on and campaigning is going on vigorously. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also jumped into Assam’s political fray. Asaduddin Owaisi has given color to the election in Assam by criticizing strongly.

Opinion is the most powerful weapon – Owaisi

Speaking in Assam, Asaduddin Owaisi appealed to the voters to be united. He said that vote is the most powerful weapon in a democracy and it should be used wisely and with political acumen. Rejecting Bharatiya Janata Party’s claims of an electoral lead, Asaduddin Owaisi clarified that his main objective is to ensure that maximum number of AIUDF candidates reach the Assembly.

BJP in power because of Congress: Owaisi

Speaking on the Assam assembly elections, Asaduddin Owaisi said, “We are on a two-day tour of Assam in support of the AIUDF party. We believe that politics of hatred is going on in Assam when Himanta Biswa Sarma is the Chief Minister. The Congress party has failed to stop the BJP. It is because of the Congress party that Himanta Biswa Sarma and the BJP are in power today. More than 50,000 Muslims have been demolished and made homeless. In such a situation, their constitutional rights have been violated. It is important to support Badruddin Ajmal to protect.”

Calling the Uniform Civil Code the Hindu Code Bill

Speaking on the Uniform Civil Code, Owaisi said that freedom of religion is a fundamental right under the Constitution. The Preamble of the Constitution mentions freedom of thought, equality and justice. The intention is to introduce the Hindu Code Bill under the guise of Uniform Civil Code, which is wrong and unconstitutional.

When are the elections in Assam?

Assam assembly elections will be held on April 9. Voting will be held in a single phase and the results will be announced on May 4. There are 126 assembly seats in the state and approximately 2 crore 25 lakh voters. The main contest in Assam is between the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Congress.
