After all, what is KAAC?

Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council is a self-governing body established under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution to administer the districts of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong. Currently it is being led by BJP. The Karbi community is the third largest tribe in Assam, after the Bodos and Misings, constituting 11.1% of the state’s 38.8 lakh tribal population.

Why has this controversy arisen?
