Assi Box Office: Average performance of Taapsee Pannu’s film, earning only Rs 2.6 crore in two days
New Delhi. Taapsee Pannu’s new film Assi is not performing as expected at the box office. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, this film was released on February 20, but the audience was not successful in drawing it to the theater in the first two days. According to reports, the film collected Rs 1 crore on the first day and Rs 1.6 crore on the second day, i.e. in total the film earned Rs 2.6 crore in two days. The film’s production budget is said to be around Rs 30 crore.
Story and cast of the film
Assi’s story is based on getting justice for the rape victim. Taapsee Pannu has played the role of a lawyer in it. Apart from Taapsee, well-known actors like Kani Kusriti, Revati, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Zeeshan Ayub, Naseeruddin Shah, Supriya Pathak, Seema Pahwa were seen in the film. The story and acting were praised by critics, but the number of viewers in the theater was not as expected.
Comparison with Anubhav Sinha’s previous films
Anubhav Sinha’s previous film Thappad had collected 2.76 crores on the first day, Anek had collected 7 crores and Rajkumar Rao’s film Crowd had collected 3.33 crores on the opening day. In comparison, Assi had an average opening, due to which the film is lagging behind at the box office.
Taapsee’s upcoming movies
Taapsee Pannu is back in the limelight with this film after her previous films like Khel Khel Mein and Dhak Dhak. Recently she was seen in the film Dunky with Shahrukh Khan, in which her acting was very much liked. Now she will also be seen in the upcoming films Woh Ladki Hain Kahaan and Gandhari.
