Astonishing! Glenn Maxwell blows fans away with monstrous 122m six in BBL – WATCH
New Delhi: Melbourne Stars swashbuckling all-rounder Glenn Maxwell played a whirlwind knock against Melbourne Renegades on Sunday in the second Melbourne Derby of the Big-Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 played at the Docklands Stadium.
The former Stars captain smashed 90 runs in 52 balls with the help of four boundaries and 10 sixes at a staggering strike rate of 173.07. The pulverising by the Victorian of the Renegades bowling unit lifted Stars with a competitive score of 165 on the board. Maxwell scored the team’s 54.54 runs as it was reduced to 75 for 7 in the 11th over.
Among the fours sixes dispatched by the Stars batter, one that took the complete caught of the public eye was the monstrous 122m six off Kane Richardson’s bowling in the 17th over. Maxwell watches the slot ball being thrown in his range and launches it miles over the cow corner.

Maxwell missed out on a eighth T20 hundred after getting cleaned up by Richardson on the first ball of the final over of the Stars innings. He walked off the pitch while raising the bat toward the crowd, who lauded his sensational knock under pressure.
Stars beat Renegades by 42 runs
The Stars ensured to not let Maxwell’s daunting efforts go unnoticed and the bowlers rouse to the occasion. Pacer Mark Steketee run through the Renegades batting order with a ravening spell, toppling the top order first with the dismissals of Josh Brown, Marcus Harris, and Jake Fraser-McGurk. The likes of Harry Dickson and Adam Zampa also fell to Steketee as the fast bowler claimed his first five-wicket haul and also completed 100 wickets in the BBL.
He was supported by Joel Paris (3 for 17) from the other end as the Renegades were bundled up for 123 in 19.5 overs. Tim Seifert scored the most runs (26) in the unsuccessful chase.
