Turkey ski resort hotel fire : A fire broke out early Tuesday in a hotel restaurant at the Kartalkaya ski resort in northwestern Turkey's Bolu province, killing 10 people and injuring 32. According to reports, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said, “Emergency services, including 267 personnel from various agencies, responded quickly to control the fire and assist the victims. “An investigation is underway to find out the cause of the fire.”

The fire broke out at 3:30 a.m. local time (0030 GMT) on the fourth floor of the 11-story hotel, which houses the resort's main restaurant, according to Bolu Governor Abdulaziz Aydin. “The exact cause of the fire is not yet known, but the flames started from the dining area floor,” he said.
Governor Abdulaziz Aydin said about 234 guests were staying at the hotel. Aydin said two victims died after jumping from the building “in panic.” Multiple videos, some of which were posted on social media platforms and others broadcast by Turkish TV channels, showed flames shooting from the upper floors of the hotel. In the video, some people tried to use tied bed sheets to escape the fire.
