Atalanta reportedly verging on €25m capture of Leverkusen prodigy

The Serie A side can thank one of their current players for reportedly influencing the 18-year-old into joining the club.

Italian news source Corriere dello Sport reports that the Kerim Alajbegovic is on the verge of a transfer to Atalanta Bergamo.

His Bosnian national teammate Sead Kolasinac, formerly of Schalke, has reportedly convinced Alajbegovic to make the move.

A transfer fee of €25million plus bonuses is expected to flow to Leverkusen making it a lucrative deal for the Rhinelanders.

However, they also run the risk that Alajbegovic could also be losing out on one of football’s brightest talents as a result.

After his spell at RB Salzburg last season which yielded 9 goals and 3 assists in 29 games, Leverkusen paid €8million to bring him back.

The gifted 18-year-old attacking midfielder was also one of the youngest starting players at the World Cup, playing all four of Bosnia’s games.
