New Delhi: A very painful news has come out from Pydhuni area of Mumbai. Four people of the same family died due to suspected food poisoning. After this incident, sensation has spread in the entire area. After getting information about the incident, Maharashtra Police has now registered a case and started investigation.
4 people of the same family died
According to the information received, the deceased have been identified as 40-year-old Abdullah Dokadia, his 35-year-old wife Nasreen Dokadia and two daughters Ayesha, 16 years, and Zainab, 13 years. The whole family perished together. Initial investigation suggests food poisoning, but official confirmation is awaited.
Did eating biryani and watermelon cause death?
According to media reports, the family had called relatives at home on the night of 25 April 2026. A total of 9 people had dinner together at around 10:30 pm. It is being told that there was biryani in the food. The relatives went to their homes after having food.
After this, between 1 and 1:30 in the night, all four members of the family ate watermelon. After a few hours his health started deteriorating. Between 5:30 and 6 am on April 26, 2026, all four started vomiting and diarrhea. The condition worsened rapidly.
One by one died in the hospital
The family was first taken to Sabu Siddiq Hospital. Seeing his condition serious, he was referred to JJ Hospital. Doctors made every effort to save him, but could not succeed. First of all, 13 year old Zainab died at around 10:15 in the morning. After this, the condition of the remaining three worsened. Husband Abdullah Dokadia also died at around 10:30 pm. The happy and cheerful family was destroyed in a single day.
Police started investigation
It is noteworthy that Mumbai Police has registered an accidental death report at JJ Marg police station. DCP Praveen Mundhe said that on April 25, the family had dinner with relatives. Vomiting and diarrhea started in the morning after eating watermelon at night. The post mortem has been done. Body and food samples have been sent for testing. The real cause of death will become clear only after the histopathology report comes.
Whereas, local doctor Zaid Qureshi told that his health suddenly deteriorated at night. There were complaints of vomiting, diarrhea and weakness. Took to hospital but could not be saved. This incident has raised many questions. Is it just food poisoning or something else? Police is investigating from every angle. At present the entire area is in shock and is waiting for the truth to come out.
