New Delhi Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi took oath as Chief Minister in a ceremony at Raj Niwas today. She was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. With this, AAP formed the government in Delhi for the fourth consecutive time. Along with Atishi, 5 other ministers also took oath of office. In the new cabinet announced by AAP, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Imran Hussain and Sultanpur Majra MLA Mukesh Ahlawat took oath as cabinet ministers.

Atishi took oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi in a program organized at the Lieutenant Governor's Secretariat. Aam Aadmi Party's Atishi will be the third woman leader to become the Chief Minister of Delhi after Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Sushma Swaraj and Congress' Sheila Dixit. Atishi has played many important responsibilities in Aam Aadmi Party. She was also a member of the manifesto drafting committee that prepared the first manifesto of Aam Aadmi Party, which made its electoral debut in 2013, and played an important role in shaping the party's policies in the initial days. As the spokesperson of Aam Aadmi Party, Atishi strongly presented the party's side on major platforms.
