Atishi Oath Ceremony : Today Delhi will get a new Chief Minister. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi will take oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi today. Atishi's swearing-in ceremony will be held at 4:30 pm at Raj Niwas. Along with this, her council of ministers will also take oath. These will include Imran Hussain, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Mukesh Kumar and Saurabh Bhardwaj.
After Arvind Kejriwal's resignation from the post of CM, Atishi has been elected the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party's legislative party. Atishi staked claim to form the new government and demanded the LG to fix the date of swearing-in.
Atishi will be the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi. Before her, BJP's Sushma Swaraj and Congress' Sheila Dixit have been the Chief Ministers. Sushma Swaraj's tenure was quite short, Sheila Dixit was the Chief Minister of Delhi for 15 years.
The file for approval of swearing-in of Kailash Gehlot, Gopal Rai, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Imran Hussain and Mukesh Ahlawat was sent to the President. Aam Aadmi Party has not invited any leader of other parties to the ceremony.
