Delhi CM Atishi wrote a letter to Jagdambika Pal, Chairman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee formed to discuss the Waqf Board Amendment Bill. In this letter he has told that IAS Ashwini Kumar has sent the report without taking approval from Delhi Government, hence it has no meaning.

In the letter he said, 'I have come to know that Delhi Waqf Board Administrator Ashwini Kumar has presented a report before the Joint Parliamentary Committee headed by you. This report is completely invalid and has been submitted without approval from Delhi Government, hence it can be considered canceled unless approval is received from Delhi Government.

After the opposition's opposition on the Waqf Board Amendment Bill, the Central Government formed a Joint Parliamentary Committee of 31 members and sent it to the committee for discussion.

In the joint committee meeting held on Monday, many opposition members walked out of the meeting protesting against the report of Delhi Waqf Board. He claimed that the report had been changed without the knowledge of the Delhi government.

Opposition leaders also included Aam Aadmi Party's Sanjay Singh, DMK MP Mohammad Abdullah, Congress's Naseer Hussain and Mohammad Javed, who walked out of the meeting. He alleged that Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Commissioner and Delhi Waqf Board Administrator Ashwini Kumar completely changed the preliminary report of the Waqf Board without the permission of the Chief Minister.
