Major banks like HDFC Bank, Punjab National Bank (PNB) and Bank have revised their ATM policies and transaction charges. These changes will directly affect your wallet and daily limit. HDFC Bank

By HDFC Bank A big change has been made. Accordingly, cash withdrawn from ATMs using UPI will now be included in your free transaction limit. This means, if you transact more than the predetermined free limit, you will have to pay an additional tax of ₹23 for each additional transaction. Earlier, cash withdrawal through UPI was treated separately. But now it will be just like regular ATM withdrawal.

Punjab National Bank

PNB has reduced the daily cash withdrawal limit for many of its debit cards. The limit on some cards has been reduced from ₹1 lakh to ₹50,000, while the limit on premium cards has been reduced from ₹1.5 lakh to ₹75,000. This means that you may have to visit the ATM multiple times to withdraw large amounts.

Bank

Bank has also changed the ATM usage rules. You get five free financial transactions per month at your own ATMs, three at other banks’ ATMs in metro cities and five in non-metro cities. After this, each transaction will be charged at ₹23 (Financial) and ₹10 (Non-Financial). In case of transaction failure due to insufficient balance in the account, an additional charge of ₹25 will be charged.

Which cities will these rules apply to?

Metro cities include Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi. All other cities fall under non-metro category.
