Attack on Saif Ali Khan: 'Serious injury' to actor's spinal cord, 'Part of the knife was inside the body'

Doctors at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital said surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair the leaking spinal fluid. Two deep wounds on Saif Ali Khan's left hand and another on his neck were repaired. Saif Ali Khan, famous for his roles in 'Omkara', 'Dil Chahta Hai' and 'Kal Ho Na Ho', was attacked by a thief with a knife at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai in the early hours of Thursday. This caused serious injury to his spinal cord.

Admitted to the hospital at 2 o'clock in the night

Dr. Nitin Dange of Lilavati Hospital said that the Bollywood star was admitted to the hospital at around 2 o'clock in the night. He was allegedly attacked by an unknown person. He suffered serious injury to his thoracic spine due to the knife getting stuck in his spine. Surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair the leaking spinal fluid. The plastic surgery team repaired two deep wounds on his left hand and another deep wound on his neck. Now his condition is improving and he is out of danger.

This attack shocked people

The attack on Khan has shocked people across India. Fellow actors and politicians are also included in this. Sources say the attacker stayed at Khan's house “the whole night”. He was allegedly trying to enter son Jeh's room. Then the caretaker shouted and Saif Ali Khan came running inside. During the scuffle, the thief stabbed the actor and ran away.

6 knife wounds found on Saif's body

Doctors had told on the first day that the actor had received six knife wounds. Two of these are deep. Dr. Neeraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, said that there is a deep wound near the spine. The police interrogated the employees who were coming to Saif's house for two days. Because floor polishing work was going on. Three employees of the actor have already been questioned. Whereas reports say that a female employee has also been injured in the incident.
