Attacker was in son Jeh’s room, nanny started screaming: Saif Ali Khan tells police

New Delhi: Fresh details have emerged in the much-talked-about Saif Ali Khan stabbing case. According to the latest updates, sources reveal that the renowned actor recently recorded his statement with the Bandra police. The 54-year-old star reportedly stated that he was in his room with his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan when they suddenly heard screams.

Upon hearing the loud voice of their house help Eliyama Phillip, who also takes care of their youngest child Jehangir (Jeh), the celebrity couple rushed to their son’s room where the nanny also sleeps. They noticed a stranger there and Jeh was crying.

Saif stated that he caught hold of the intruder and, during the scuffle, the individual stabbed him multiple times on his back, neck and other areas. And, as a result, the Bollywood star sustained serious injuries but somehow managed to free himself, pushing the attacker back.

According to PTI, an official informed that two constables have been deployed by Mumbai Police in two shifts outside Saif’s Bandra residence following the knife attack on January 16, 2025. CCTV cameras and window grills have also been installed at the Satguru Sharan building as part of heightened security measures.

For the unversed, Saif was stabbed several times, allegedly by Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, alias Vijay Das. The 30-year-old man is believed to be a Bangladeshi national staying illegally in India.

The accused is expected to be produced in court on Friday (January 24, 2025) as the police seek an extension of his remand. The individual was initially remanded to five-day police custody on Sunday (January 19, 2025).

After the stabbing, Saif immediately sought medical treatment at Lilavati Hospital. He is now reported to be recovering well. Prayers and wishes for his speedy recovery have poured in from across the nation since news of the attack surfaced online.
