Attempt to cheat the DCP of Crime Branch by mistaking him for a common man, cyber thugs were shocked when they saw police uniform in front: Digital Arrest

Digital Arrest: On Sunday afternoon, Indore Crime Branch's Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya was working in his office when he received a call on his phone. This call was not a normal call, but an attempt at cyber fraud, which completely shocked them. The caller said very confidently, 'A fraudulent transaction of Rs 1,11,930 has been made on your credit card and an FIR has been registered. If you don't act soon, your bank account will be frozen in two hours!'

Till now, Rajesh Dandotiya had not understood what was happening, but a question arose in his mind – could this be true? But he was an experienced police officer and he realized that something was wrong. So he decided to continue this game and thought of exposing the entire conspiracy of the swindlers.

Then an interesting twist happened! As soon as the thugs asked to make a video call in the name of recording the statement online. When the thugs saw Dandotiya in police uniform on the screen, their faces paled. The thugs realized who they had messed with and got scared and disconnected the call.

This 'digital arrest' was a common method of fraudsters, in which they cheat someone by pretending to be a banking or police officer and try to extort money by scaring them. Dandotiya said in this matter, 'Initially they call themselves banking officers, then suddenly they become police officers. They started saying that my Aadhaar card was misused and an FIR has been registered against me in Andheri West, Mumbai. Then he told me that I have to go to Andheri West police station within two hours.

When Dandotiya said that he had not been to Mumbai for ten years and could not go there immediately, the thugs asked him to talk to a senior officer and then after some time a new caller came, who told him 'Jai Hind'. ' Said and tried to take statement. As soon as they saw Dandotiya in uniform, the thugs were shocked and immediately disconnected the call.

But Dandotiya decided to record the entire incident to warn the public about digital fraud. He said, 'I immediately understood that this was an attempt to fraud. I recorded this conversation so that people can become aware of such cyber crimes and can avoid them.

This story not only exposes the cunningness of the swindlers and their fallibility, but also narrates how a savvy and alert officer exposed their conspiracy. This incident proved that if you are smart and show a little vigilance, you can defeat any fraudster.
