Attempt to convert West Bengal into Bangladesh… Mithun Chakraborty roared, said – As long as there is even a drop of blood in the body, we will not allow Bengal to become Bangladesh.

West Bengal: BJP leader and Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty has once again given sharp statements regarding the politics of West Bengal. Addressing a public meeting in Cooch Behar district, he alleged that deliberate efforts were being made to turn the state into “West Bangladesh”, but such efforts would never succeed. He clearly said that West Bengal is an integral part of India and under no circumstances will it be allowed to become like any other country.

Expressed displeasure over Mamta Banerjee’s statement
Mithun Chakraborty also reacted strongly to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s comments about Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He said that recently during a meeting in Bankura, the Chief Minister had claimed that it was he who allowed Amit Shah to leave a hotel in Kolkata. On this, Mithun raised questions and said that this is not a separate country, where the Home Minister should be stopped from coming. According to him, if anyone thinks that Bengal can be run differently from India, then it is a very dangerous thinking.

Warning by giving example of ‘The Kashmir Files’
In his speech, Mithun Chakraborty also mentioned his film The Kashmir Files. He said that just as Kashmiri Pandits were forced to flee the valley in the 1990s, efforts are being made to create similar conditions in Bengal also. He alleged that religious faith and cultural expression were being suppressed. Giving an example, he said that singer Laganjita Chakraborty was harassed for singing a song in praise of Mother Goddess, which is very unfortunate.

“As long as there is breath, Bengal will remain India’s”
Mithun Chakraborty said in a very emotional manner that some people may dream that Bengal becomes like Bangladesh, but it will never happen. He said that as long as there is even a drop of blood in the body of people like him, West Bengal will remain a part of India. He also added that he believes in the Constitution and that is why he is maintaining restraint.

Appeal for opposition unity before elections
In view of the upcoming assembly elections in the state, Mithun Chakraborty stressed on opposition unity to remove the Trinamool Congress government. He appealed to the “honest” supporters of Congress, Left parties and Trinamool Congress to together oust the present government from power. According to him, this is very important to take Bengal in the right direction.

Allegations regarding development and corruption
Mithun Chakraborty also accused the state government of failing on the development front. He said that there are neither industries, nor enough jobs nor strong health infrastructure in Bengal. According to him, if anything is flourishing in the state, it is only corruption. In this context, he also said that the Mamata Banerjee government did not implement the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat scheme, perhaps because they feared that it would increase the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Promise to implement Ayushman Bharat
At the end of his speech, Mithun Chakraborty claimed that if BJP government is formed in Bengal in the coming elections, then the first thing will be to implement Ayushman Bharat Healthcare Scheme. He said that providing better health facilities to the poor and middle class people would be his priority. Overall, this statement of Mithun Chakraborty clearly indicates that the election atmosphere in West Bengal is heating up and political rhetoric may become more intense in the coming days.
