Audi Car Recall: Luxury car manufacturer Audi in India recalls 207 vehicles, know the reason

Audi Car Recall: Luxury car manufacturer Audi in India has announced a major recall regarding its electric SUV range. The company has decided to recall the Audi e-Tron, Audi e-Tron Sportback, Audi Q8 e-Tron and Audi Q8 e-Tron Sportback models. This recall applies to a total of 207 vehicles manufactured between February 2, 2018 and June 11, 2024.

What is the problem?
According to the company, the problem is related to a critical part of the brake system—the brake servo push rod and its bolted connection. This connection has not fully met technical standards and may become loose over time. In such a situation, the mechanical link between the brake pedal and the brake system may get affected, due to which adequate braking power will not be available at the time of need.

What to do in emergency?
Audi says that the possibility of this connection being completely severed is extremely unlikely. Nevertheless, if this happens the driver may have difficulty applying the brakes. In such situations, the controlled emergency braking feature provided in the vehicle can prove helpful.

How does the emergency braking system work?
To activate this feature, one has to press and hold the electromechanical parking brake button on the center console. After this the system gradually reduces the speed of the vehicle and helps in stopping the vehicle safely.
