AUS clean swept NZ, made a roar for T20 World Cup; India will have to be cautious

Australia Women clean sweep New Zealand Women T20I Series: Australia Women clean sweep New Zealand Women T20I Series: By winning the third T20 match played in Brisbane by 5 wickets, Australia Women's cricket team clean swept New Zealand Women's team 3-0 in the three-match series. Batting first, New Zealand scored 146/6 in 20 overs, in reply to which Australia achieved the target by scoring 148 runs in 19.1 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Australia's Georgia Warham (26 off 16 balls and 2/21) was adjudged Player of the Match while Ashleigh Gardner (51 runs and 4 wickets) was declared Player of the Series.

New Zealand got off to a good start after winning the toss and batting first. Georgia Plimer added 45 runs with Suzie Bates. Bates scored 19 runs off 17 balls and was out in the seventh over. Plimer hit a half-century and scored 53 runs off 48 balls to take the score past 100 with Amelia Kerr. Amelia played an innings of 40 runs off 36 balls. However, after this, no batsman contributed much and due to this, the New Zealand team could not even cross the 150 mark. Annabel Sutherland and Georgia Warham took two wickets each for Australia.

Ellyse Perry and Ashley Gardner won

While chasing the target, Australia suffered the first blow at a score of 26 and Beth Mooney was out after scoring 6 runs. Captain Alyssa Healy also got out after scoring 27 runs off 29 balls, while Georgia Warham scored 26 runs off 16 balls, which included four fours. Alice Perry and Ashleigh Gardner shared a half-century partnership for the fourth wicket and brought the team closer to victory. Perry scored 36 runs off 29 balls and Gardner scored 33 runs off 26 balls. In the end, Phoebe Litchfield (5*) and Tahlia McGrath (6*) finished the match in the 20th over. Eden Carson took the maximum two wickets for New Zealand.

Australia's spectacular performance must have raised the concerns of all the teams for the T20 World Cup to be held in UAE next month, especially those in Group A. This group includes Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. As the defending champions, Australia will try to defend their trophy successfully.
