Australia vs England, 2nd Test: On the second day of the second Test match of the Ashes series being played in Brisbane, the England team was all out for 334 runs in the first innings. Joe Root remained unbeaten after scoring 138 runs. After Joe Root’s century, the Australian team bowled brilliantly and did not allow England to score big.
England started the second day with 325 runs for 9 wickets. After adding 9 more runs, the tenth wicket fell in the form of Joffra Archer. Archer was out after scoring 38 runs. There was a partnership of 70 runs for the tenth wicket between Root and Archer. Archer played an inning of 38 runs in 36 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 2 fours.
In this match, England won the toss and decided to bat first. On the first day, Joe Root stole the show by scoring a century. Root, the number one batsman in Test cricket, scored his first century in 30 innings on Australian soil. With this he scored his 40th Test century in Test cricket. He became the fourth batsman after Sachin, Kallis and Ponting to score 40 or more Test centuries.

He made a partnership of 97 runs with Crawley for the third wicket and 54 runs with Harry Brook for the fourth wicket. Apart from Root, opener Jack Crawley played an inning of 76 runs in 93 balls. Archer was the third top scorer. Four England batsmen Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Jamie Smith and Braydon Carse could not open the account.
