AUS vs ENG: The second Ashes series being played between Australia and England is going on at Gabba. On the second day of this test match, Australia’s batsmen made a brilliant counterattack. Due to which the English team has now lagged behind in the competition. The Australian team would now like to win the match by winning the third day as well. The English team will have to perform brilliantly on the third day to remain in the competition.

When Joe Root and Joffra Archer returned unbeaten on the first day, they did not get a good start when they came out to bat at the beginning of the second day. Archer became the victim of Brendan Doggett after scoring only 38 runs. Marnus Labuschagne took a wonderful catch. Veteran Joe Root remained unbeaten after scoring 138 runs. The English team scored 334 runs in the first innings. In reply, Australia, who came to bat, got a good start. Opener Travis Head returned to the pavilion after scoring 33 runs, while his partner Jake Weatherald played a explosive inning of 72 runs. Marnus Labuschagne, who came to bat at number 3, played an important inning of 65 runs.

Captain Steve Smith also shone with the bat

Captain Steve Smith, who came to bat at number 4, also played a very important inning of 61 runs. All-rounder Cameron Green scored 45 runs while Josh Inglis scored 23 runs. By the end of the day’s play, wicketkeeper batsman Alex Carey was playing on 46 runs. Michael Neser is supporting him by adding 15 runs. Due to which the Australian team has scored 378 runs after losing 6 wickets. Australia has got a lead of 44 runs in the first innings. The Australian team would now like to cross this lead of 150 runs on the third day.
