Neither a single batsman scored a century nor there was a century partnership between two batsmen, but still the team put 511 runs on the board in the first innings. This was possible due to the all-over performance of the team. The biggest innings was played by the team’s fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who scored 77 runs on 141 balls. At the same time, Jake Weatherald played a quick inning of 72 runs in 78 balls. Travis Head was out after scoring 33 runs. Marnus Labuschagne 65, captain Steve Smith 61, Green 45, Alex Carey 63, Jose Anglais 23, Nasser 16, Boland 21* and Brendon Doggett scored 13 runs.

England had scored 334 runs in the first innings

In the Gabba Test match, England scored 334 runs in the first innings, in which Joe Root’s century played an important role. For England, Joe Root played important innings of 138 runs and Jack Crawley played 76 runs. Apart from him, no batsman could even score a fifty. In this way the team had scored 334 runs.
