Starc has become only the third cricketer to reach this milestone. Before him, this feat was done by Sri Lankan player Dilruwan Perera (Dubai Test, Pakistan, 2017) and West Indies’ Jason Holder (Bridgetown Test, Sri Lanka, 2018).
35-year-old Starc has also become the highest run scorer in Test cricket as a number nine batsman. He has scored 1408 runs in 77 innings in 64 Tests, with an average of 22.34 with eight half-centuries and a best score of 99. He is ahead of England’s Stewart Broad (1389 runs, 67 Tests, average 19.84) and has also become the player with the highest score of 50+ at this number.
