Nitish and Washington took over the innings

With this century, Nitish achieved a special achievement. He became the third youngest Indian batsman to score a Test century in Australia. Sachin scored his first century in 1992 at the age of 18 years and 256 days, while Pant scored a century in 2019 at the age of 21 years and 92 days. Nitish and Washington made a partnership of 127 runs and brought India out of the difficult situation. Both the batsmen displayed composure and determination and faced the Australian bowlers boldly and played an important role in bringing India back into the match.

By the end of the third day's play, India scored 358/9. Nitish was at the crease after scoring 105* and Mohammad Siraj 2*. The Indian team is still behind by 116 runs. Due to bad light and light drizzle, the umpires ended the day's play early.
