It doesn't feel bad to see Australia lose
Former South African batsman AB de Villiers praised India for this victory. He jokingly said that he does not feel bad to see Australia lose. “This test match was very interesting. Nothing personal against Australia, but most people around the world like to see them lose sometimes,” de Villiers said with a laugh.
Praise for the Indian team
De Villiers praised the fighting mentality of the Indian team, especially after the crushing 0-3 defeat in the home Test series against New Zealand. He said, “The team's confidence had definitely diminished due to the defeat against New Zealand, but they adapted themselves brilliantly to the conditions in the first Test. It was a great start.”
Reaction to Kohli's century
De Villiers also praised Virat Kohli's century. There has been a deep friendship between the two while playing together in Royal Challengers Bangalore. He expressed happiness over the “relief” on Kohli’s face after his century. “I saw every ball in the second innings. He is an incredible player and has gone through tough times. After the century, relief was clearly visible on his face. I am very happy for Virat and the Indian team.” He further said that the Australian team will definitely make a comeback, but this Test series will be worth watching.
