AUS vs IND: Will Team India repeat history again in MCG after 2020? See the records of the last 10 years

Delhi: Despite the retirement of former Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin from international cricket, the Indian team will play in the fourth Test match against Australia. The five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy is tied at 1-1, and now the Indian team is eyeing a win in the fourth Test in Melbourne, starting from December 26, so that they can take the lead in the series.

Match important for WTC final

If India wants to make it to the final of the World Test Championship (WTC), then it will have to win both the upcoming matches against Australia. If India loses one more in this series, then the dream of WTC final may end. The way India played a draw in the third test in adverse conditions, the team's confidence has increased. If India wins the fourth Test, it will avoid losing the series and take a 2-1 lead.

Rohit has a chance for big achievement

Although India has achieved many successes at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in the last 10 years, overall Australia has dominated this ground. From 1948 to 2020, India played 14 Tests here, out of which it won only 4, lost 8 and 2 were drawn. So far, only four Indian captains Bishan Singh Bedi, Sunil Gavaskar, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane have succeeded in winning Tests on this ground, and Rohit Sharma has a chance to add his name to this list.

Bumrah has a chance to defeat Kumble

Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah also has a chance to make a record at MCG. Both Bumrah and Anil Kumble have 15-15 wickets in their name so far on this ground. If Bumrah takes even one wicket in the fourth Test, he will become the highest wicket-taker for India at the MCG and break Kumble's record. Apart from Bumrah and Kumble, Kapil Dev has taken 14 wickets, Ravichandran Ashwin has taken 14 wickets and Umesh Yadav has taken 13 wickets on this ground.
