New Delhi: Australia will take on Pakistan in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Adelaide Oval on Friday. Leading the series 1-0, Australia will look to claim the series while Pakistan will aim a bounce back to level the affair and take things into the decider. As per a report, Pakistan are likely to field the same playing XI despite losing the first game and Australia seem to reveal their XI at the toss itself.
In the first match, the hosts had invited Pakistan to bat first who struggled throughout their innings and could just muster 203 before being bowled out by the Australian bowlers. Skipper Mohammed Rizwan (44) and Babar Azam played crucial knocks (37) while Naseem Shah contributed with 40 runs from the tail. The Pakistan team arrived into the series with high hopes but were given an early blow, getting bundled out on a meagre score.
Coming out to chase, even Australia faced some early trouble by the Pakistani pacers. The innings were further carried on by Steven Smith (44) and Josh Inglis (49) until skipper Pat Cummins took matters in his own hands. The 204-run chase turned out to be a nail-biting affair as Cummins resorted to running between the wickets and took his team over the line, registering a narrow win.
