Now the third and final match between the two teams will decide the series.
After initial setbacks, Australia set a challenging score
The Australian team, which came to bat first in the match, did not have a good start. Captain Shaheen Afridi gave a big success to Pakistan by bowling Alex Carey on the very first ball of the innings. Even after this, Australia kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
However, Cameron Green and captain Josh Inglis took over the responsibility in the middle order. Green scored 53 runs, while Inglis contributed 51 runs. Apart from this, Oliver Peak strengthened the team by adding 31 runs. Thanks to these innings, Australia scored 231 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs. Shaheen Afridi was the most successful bowler for Pakistan and he took 3 wickets. Whereas Haris Rauf, Arafat Minhas and Maaz Sadaqat got two successes each.
Pakistan’s batting disintegrated while chasing the target
Pakistan had a very bad start while chasing the target of 232 runs. The team lost the first wicket on the score of just 4 runs and by the time it reached 6 runs, the second batsman also returned to the pavilion. Pakistan failed to recover from the initial shock and wickets continued to fall. Key batsmen like Babar Azam, Salman Ali Aga and Sahibzada Farhan could not play big innings. As a result, the team came under pressure and never appeared to be in a strong position in the match.
Shadab Khan’s struggle did not work
Despite the fall of wickets at one end, Shadab Khan performed brilliantly. He tried to keep the team in the competition by scoring 71 runs. Wicketkeeper Ghazi Ghori contributed 37 runs and Arafat Minhas contributed 33 runs, but did not get enough support from other batsmen. After which the entire Pakistani team was reduced to 190 runs and lost the match by 41 runs.
