Australia released the list of its 12 players for the fourth test match of the Ashes series, Steve Smith will captain.

The fourth Test match of the Ashes Test series will be played between Australia and England from 26 December 2025. This match will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Australian team has won the three matches played so far and has maintained a 3-0 lead in the series. The England team has lost the series, but now the England team will enter the field to challenge Australia. England has already released its playing eleven for this important match, whereas now Australia has also released a list of 12 players. The name of the team’s regular captain Pat Cummins is not included in this list.

However, in his absence, Steve Smith will be seen captaining the team. This test match is going to be the last match of the year 2025 for both the teams. The second match between the two teams was played in Brisbane, where Australia defeated England by 8 wickets. In this match also, Mitchell Starc troubled the England batsmen. Starc won the Player of the Match award by taking 6 wickets in the first innings and 2 wickets in the second innings.

Australia won by 82 runs in the third match

The third test match between the two teams was played on Adelaide grounds. In this match, Australia team defeated England by 82 runs. Alex Carey had performed brilliantly for Australia, due to which he was given the Player of the Match award. Alex Carey had played a century inning of 106 runs in the first innings, while in the second innings he had scored 72 runs with his bat. However, in the third match, Travis Head also played an inning of 170 runs.

Now Australia has released the list of its 12 players for the fourth match. In the press conference held before the fourth Test match, Australian captain Steve Smith said that he will captain the Australian team in the last two Test matches. Pat Cummins is out of the series due to injury. Smith also said that Usman Khawaja will bat at number 5 in the fourth Test match. However, the playing eleven has not been announced yet and the final 11 will be selected from these 12 players only.
