Australia shooting: Death toll in Sydney Bondi Beach shooting rises to 16, condition of five very critical
Sydney, 15 December. The death toll from Sunday’s shooting on Sydney’s Bondi Beach has increased to 16. According to the police, the perpetrators of this attack were a father and son. Police gave this information on Monday. According to the report of Xinhua news agency, New South Wales state police said that 16 people have been confirmed dead after the shooting.
According to the police statement, 14 people died on the spot, while two people died during treatment in the hospital. The age of the deceased ranges from 10 years to 87 years. These include one of the attackers. As of Monday morning, about 40 injured people were undergoing treatment in the hospital. The condition of five of these is said to be very serious. New South Wales Police Commissioner Mel Lanyon told a press conference that the two suspected attackers were a 50-year-old man and his 24-year-old son. The 50-year-old man died on the spot.
According to the police, he had a valid arms license and was legally in possession of six guns. The shooting occurred at around 6:47 pm on Sunday, when at least 1,000 people had gathered on the beach to attend an event marking the first day of the Jewish festival of Hanukkah. Then both the attackers opened fire on the crowd.

He said that this is a serious problem and together we will end it. This incident is considered to be the deadliest mass shooting in Australia since 1996. That year, 35 people were killed in a shooting in Port Arthur, Tasmania, after which major changes were made in the country’s weapons laws.
