Australia to drop opening batter after three Tests, replacement revealed
Nathan McSweeney is likely to be dropped from Australia’s squad for the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, with Sam Konstas set to replace him. The national selectors will announce the team for the fourth Test against India on Friday afternoon.
McSweeney’s spot in the Playing XI was under the scanner after his mediocre start in the longest format of the gane. He failed to do much with the bat in the third contest at the Gabba in Brisbane. Sources have revealed that Nathan McSweeney won’t play in Melbourne and the player has been informed about his exclusion.
Konstas, 19, could make his debut in front of a big crowd after an impressive showings with the bat.
