‘We did an amazing chase…’ Australian captain Alyssa Healy’s big statement after defeating India
Alyssa Healy: Australia women’s cricket team defeated India by 5 wickets in the second ODI. In the match played on Friday, Australia achieved the target of 252 runs given by Team India by losing just 5 wickets. With this victory, Australia has also achieved an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. Australian captain Alyssa Healy looked elated with the team’s performance.
Captain Healy praised the team’s performance after winning the ODI series. He said, “I am really very happy with this result. Like I said in the last match, we chased the runs brilliantly. Our performance in this match was even more amazing. We did an amazing chase. In this match, the Indian team scored a very low score and it was probably even less than the average score.”
Bowlers restricted India to 250 runs
The captain of the Australian team said that the bowlers performed brilliantly and limited the Indian team to 250 runs, due to which we had the upper hand in the match after the first innings. He said, ‘On such a wicket, our bowlers performed very well by restricting the opposition team to only 250 runs. We were in a strong position after the first innings.”
Healy praised Lichfield
Captain Healy praised Phoebe Litchfield’s excellent innings. He said that the way Lichfield took charge after coming to the crease was brilliant. He expressed hope that the team will be successful in performing similarly in the third and last ODI of the series. The third ODI match of the series between India and Australia is to be played on Sunday (March 1).
Australia won the match easily
Australia achieved the target of 252 runs given by the Indian team by losing 5 wickets in 36.1 overs. On behalf of the team, Georgia Wall batted brilliantly and played a century. Wall scored 101 runs in 82 balls with the help of 13 fours and one six. Whereas, Lichfield contributed 80 runs in 62 balls.

Earlier, after winning the toss, the Indian team batted and scored 251 runs on the scoreboard after losing 9 wickets in 50 overs. On behalf of the team, captain Harmanpreet Kaur played a strong inning of 54 runs, while Pratika Rawal scored 52 runs. However, except these two, other batsmen of the Indian team could not show anything special. In bowling, Annabel Sutherland and Alana King took two wickets each for Australia.
