Australian Consul General Meets Odisha Industries Minister

The Australian Consul General in Kolkata, Bernard Lynch, met Odisha’s Minister for Industries, Skill Development, and Technical Education, Sampad Chandra Swain, at his official residence today.


During the courtesy meeting, both sides discussed opportunities for collaboration in industry, skill development, and technical education. The Consul General praised Paradip Port for emerging as a major hub and securing the top position in the country for cargo handling.

The talks also explored ways to increase industrial investment in Odisha and create advanced technical education opportunities for the state’s youth. Lynch commended the Odisha government’s welfare measures and initiatives over the past two years, highlighting progress in the industrial and skill development sectors.

He expressed optimism that cooperation between Odisha and Australia would strengthen further, noting that such partnerships could play a crucial role in boosting the state’s economy and preparing a skilled workforce.

Minister Swain welcomed the Consul General’s remarks and emphasised Odisha’s commitment to expanding industrial growth and enhancing skill development programs. The meeting underscored the potential for stronger bilateral ties in education and industry.
