Aviation Minister’s claim – Initial report of Ajit Pawar’s plane crash will come soon
Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Pune MP Muralidhar Mohol on Sunday (February 22) said the preliminary report into the plane crash that took the life of NCP leader Ajit Pawar will be released on or before February 28. Pawar and four others died in a plane crash near Baramati airport on January 28.
Speaking to reporters at an event in Pune, Mohol said, “The preliminary report will be released within a month from the day of the incident, on or before February 28.” There is a lot of speculation about the incident. Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) MLA and Sharad Pawar’s nephew Rohit Pawar had held several press conferences claiming some irregularities and other technical glitches related to the airline company.
Rohit Pawar had also expressed fear of a conspiracy regarding the plane crash. On Saturday (February 21), the MLA of Karjat-Jamkhed wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding that the Civil Aviation Minister be appointed till the investigation into the accident is completed. Ram Mohan Naidu should be asked to resign from the post. Rohit Pawar said in the letter, “Serious questions have been raised regarding its relations with VSR Company and Rammohan Naidu’s party (TDP). These relations should be investigated by an independent and competent authority.
A copy of the letter has also been sent to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Mohol said the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has already issued a press statement in which the apex aviation body has given clarification on all matters related to the ongoing investigation. He said, “In the statement issued by the agency, it has been said that the preliminary report will be released before February 28.”
The Civil Aviation Minister also said that every information related to the investigation has been made public and the report will be made public. I don’t want to say anything on anyone’s comments.” The Civil Aviation Ministry had said on February 19 that a preliminary report would be released within 30 days of the accident.
