Why did Awez Darbar’s father accuse Sanjay Leela Bhansali of cheating? The fight has a connection with ‘Hiramandi’
Ismail Darbar Accuses Sanjay Leela Bhansali: The duo of music composer Ismail Darbar and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has given songs like ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ and ‘Devdas’ to Indian cinema. The chemistry between the two has always created history, but the story behind the scenes has been full of ups and downs. Recently, in an interview given to Shubhojit Ghosh’s YouTube channel, Ismail Darbar has made many shocking revelations about his relationship with Bhansali. He has accused Bhansali of cheating twice and has explained why there was a rift between them despite being such close friends.
‘Hiramandi’ became the reason for rift in friendship
According to Ismail Darbar, the biggest reason for bitterness in their friendship was an article. In that article, Ismail was described as the ‘backbone’ of Bhansali’s web series ‘Hiramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’. Ismail claims that Bhansali did not like this. He told that he had worked hard on the music of ‘Hiramandi’ for about one and a half years, but Bhansali removed him from the project without informing him. Expressing grief, Darbar said that if both of them had done ‘Hiramandi’ together, they would have once again created history in the world of music.
Emotional story of ‘Tadap Tadap Ke’
During the interview, Ismail shared a very personal anecdote related to the famous song ‘Tadap Tadap Ke’ from the film ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. He told that when Bhansali heard this song for the first time, he was so impressed that he listened to it nine times continuously. After the song ended for the ninth time, Bhansali became emotional and started crying ‘like a dog’. He had admitted that this song had clarified the interval and climax of the film in his mind. However, despite such a close association, Ismail complains that Bhansali often delayed his work till the last minute.
Ismail accused Bhansali of cheating
Ismail Darbar simply accused Bhansali of cheating. He said, “It stuck in my mind that he betrayed me not once but twice. Things were hidden from me and promises were broken.” Emphasizing his self-respect, Ismail said that he was never afraid of losing his job because he had faith in God. He said that if Bhansali had talked to him openly, he would have stepped back himself, there would have been no need to expel him.
Bhansali endured tantrums in ‘Devdas’
Amidst the controversies, Ismail also expressed his respect towards Bhansali. He recalled that Bhansali had to endure many of his tantrums during the shooting of ‘Devdas’. At that time Bhansali had not allowed anyone to interview Ismail so that the work would not be affected. Ismail said, “Even if I say bitter things about him, I feel pain from inside because he made me. If he had not tolerated my tantrums at that time, I would not have been in this position in front of the public today.”
