The Shrine of Imam Ali Raza is considered one of the holiest religious sites of Shia Muslims. Imam Ali Raza was a descendant of Prophet Muhammad and his tomb is located in Iran. This is the reason why this place has special religious importance in the Shia community. Khamenei’s burial here is being linked with respect and faith.
Demand for revenge in Friday prayers
During Friday prayers in Iran, many religious leaders called for revenge for Khamenei’s assassination. According to reports, during Namaz across the country, people were appealed to remain united in demanding revenge. It was reported that the ‘Friday Prayer Policy Council’ Had planned this campaign in advance.
Religious leaders made serious allegations against America and Israel in their speeches. Taking the names of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he said that those responsible for Khamenei’s murder should be punished. Many leaders called it a religious and national responsibility.
Same message in many cities
Demands for revenge were repeated during Friday prayers in several cities, including Mashhad, Tehran, Bushehr, Rasht, Qom, Shiraz and Malayer. Imam Ahmed Almolhoda of Mashhad said that revenge should not be limited to just the announcement, but people should also see its results. Saeed Jalili said that it is the country’s right and the government’s responsibility to respond to Khamenei’s murder.
Some religious leaders support Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz, refusing to negotiate with the US. He said that no external interference will be accepted in this strategic area.
