Ayush Badoni scored a double century in Ranji Trophy, gave confidence to LSG from IPL
sports desk : Delhi captain Ayush Badoni scored a double century against Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy organized by BCCI. Thanks to this double century of Ayush, Delhi played a draw against Jharkhand. Delhi got three points in this match. Delhi team is still in the race for the quarter finals. Delhi are third in Group D with 14 points from five matches and will need two wins against Saurashtra and Railways in January to qualify for the quarter-finals.
In reply to Jharkhand's 382 runs in the first innings, Delhi scored 388 runs after losing seven wickets at stumps on the last day. Badoni has also shone with some excellent innings in the IPL but unfortunately he has not been able to convert them into big innings in the last few seasons. Badoni played an unbeaten inning of 205 runs with the help of 16 fours and 10 sixes. On the basis of this innings, Delhi team reached ahead of Jharkhand's score of 382 runs in the first innings.

Badoni gave his team the lead in the first innings by sending Jharkhand's left-arm spinner Anukul Roy into the stands at the score of 199 runs and achieved a double century. Badoni was supported by Sumit Mathur (43) with whom he added 150 runs for the sixth wicket. Delhi team was in trouble after scoring 327 runs for seven wickets. But senior player Shivam Sharma (33) supported his captain well. Anuj Rawat also scored 52 runs for Delhi.

Lucknow Super Giants team has retained Ayush. The franchise has retained Badoni by paying Rs 4 crore. Apart from them, Lucknow has retained Nicholas Puran, Ravi Bishnoi, Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan.

In Chandigarh, Saurashtra defeated Chandigarh by an innings and 49 runs to get seven points from bonus points. Saurashtra declared the first innings at the score of 531 runs for nine wickets. Chandigarh team, which scored 249 runs in the first innings, was reduced to 223 runs in the second innings.
