Kidney operation will not become a burden, Bihar government took this special step; Only these people will get benefit

Bihar News: Bihar government has announced big relief for the patients undergoing treatment under Ayushman Bharat scheme. Now more money than before will be given on many major operations through Ayushman Card. Bihar Health Protection Committee has implemented new treatment rates, which will directly benefit the poor and needy families.

How much change will there be from the new rates?

According to the new rates, now the government will give Rs 46 thousand for kidney operation. Earlier the amount of Rs 35 thousand was fixed for this operation. That means, now you will get Rs 11,000 more on kidney stone or related operations. Similarly, the amount for gall bladder operation has also been increased. Earlier the government used to give Rs 22,800, now it has increased to Rs 32 thousand. It has been increased by Rs 9,200.

Which patients will get relief

This decision of the government will provide great relief to the patients undergoing treatment under Ayushman Bharat Scheme. Especially for expensive treatments like operations, now patients will not have to spend out of pocket. According to the Health Department, the amount of operations has been increased by an average of 35 percent. With this, hospitals will also get adequate payment and they will be able to provide free treatment without any hassle.

No change in the rates of these operations

However, there has been no change in the rates of cataract operations. Revised rates have been implemented in many remaining surgeries and treatment cases. Chief Executive Officer of Bihar Health Protection Committee, Shashank Shekhar Sinha said that this decision has been taken with the aim of improving the convenience of patients and the quality of treatment. These new rates have been implemented only after the consent of the Central Government.

What do the figures say so far

Talking about the figures, so far about 27 lakh 60 thousand people have been provided free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Bihar. The government has spent Rs 3,941 crore on this. So far, 15 lakh 21 thousand people have received treatment under this scheme in the financial year 2025-26, whereas in the last financial year, 9 lakh 73 thousand people had taken advantage of it. With this decision of the government, more people will be able to get better treatment in the coming time.
