New Delhi: In the ongoing military conflict between Iran and America, the US Air Force has deployed its three major strategic bombers B-1 Lancer, B-2 Spirit and B-52 Stratofortress simultaneously. The intensity of American attacks has continuously increased since Operation Epic Fury began in February 2026. By July, these aircraft were being used to attack Iran’s military bases, missile bunkers, nuclear facilities, command centers and important oil-related structures.
According to reports, the US Army has deployed all three bombers in different roles, making the operation more effective. Due to continuous attacks, pressure on many of Iran’s military capabilities and air defense networks has increased.
Used to target launch sites
The B-52 Stratofortress is considered the oldest but still highly reliable long-range strategic bomber of the US Air Force. With a range of about 14,200 km and a capacity to carry about 31,500 kg of weapons, it is capable of carrying out remote stand-off missile and bombing missions. During wars it has been used to target oil installations, airbases and missile launch sites.
How many weapons can the B-1B carry?
Whereas B-1B Lancer is known for its supersonic speed and ability to fly at low altitude. It can carry up to 34,000 kg of weapons and is capable of carrying out precise attacks on important enemy military targets at high speed. According to reports, it was used to target missile storage centers and command facilities.
On the other hand, the B-2 Spirit is among the most advanced stealth bombers in the world. Its ability to avoid radar makes it extremely dangerous. This aircraft, with a range of about 11,000 kilometers, can carry high-yield weapons including bunker buster bombs. The US military has used it for precision strikes on Iran’s highly protected nuclear and underground military facilities.

The combined use of the long-range strike capability of the B-52, the quick response of the B-1 and the stealth technology of the B-2 is giving the US a strategic edge in the campaign. However, the situation of the war is constantly changing and independent verification of the claims of both sides has not been possible in every case.
