Gnanavel went on to discuss the sequel for Kalki 2898 AD and Lettuceadding that all future films will be released with intervals.

In May, the director of the Baahubali series, S.S. Rajamouli, during the promotion of the animated series Baahubali: The Crown of Bloodexpressed his interest to expand the film’s universe beyond just the big screen.

“As filmmakers, we must step it up and explore all mediums. People like books, novels, games, anime. The idea is to take the story of Baahubali to people like them. And yet, look at us. We are still talking about the cliffhanger of Baahubali: The Beginning and how the film was effective when told in two parts. That mindset needs to change.”
