When Shah Rukh Khan revealed he met Baba Siddique for ‘hugs’ on Eid

New Delhi: The tragic murder of former NCP leader Baba Siddique has sent shockwaves across both political and Bollywood circles. Baba Siddique, known for his close ties with Bollywood stars, was shot dead in Mumbai on October 12 evening, sparking an investigation into the high-profile murder. The NCP leader was gunned down outside his son Zeeshan Siddiqui’s office in Bandra (East), leaving many shocked and saddened by the sudden loss.

While Baba Siddique was a respected figure in Maharashtra politics, his influence stretched far beyond the political sphere. His close friendships with Bollywood starlets like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan were no secret, and his legendary Iftar parties brought some of Bollywood’s biggest names together.

In fact, it was Baba Siddique who famously orchestrated the 2013 reunion between Shah Rukh and Salman, ending their long-standing feud in a moment that became the stuff of Bollywood lore.

A few years ago, in a light-hearted interview with the comedy group AIB, SRK shared fond memories of his friendship with Baba Siddique. During the chat, AIB cheekily asked the Pathan actor if he ever feared passing through Bandra and being “hugged” by Baba Siddique, a playful nod to the politician’s penchant for bringing people together.

Shah Rukh Khan, 58, responded, “Baba Siddique is my friend, and I regularly meet him for the hugs. I don’t want to be accosted or taken by surprise, so I plan it! I plan it on Eid and nights during Ramzan.”

The investigation into Baba Siddique’s murder is currently underway. As per various media reports, gangster Larence Bishnoi has claimed the onus of the politician’s murder. Following the incident, the Mumbai Police has increased security outside Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence Galaxy Apartments.
