BBL 2026: Pakistani batsman Babar Azam’s poor form in the Big Bash League (BBL) is now becoming a cause of embarrassment for him. Big talks and for Babar, who is called ‘King’, it is proving to be a big challenge to stay at the crease on foreign pitches. Babar, playing for Sydney Sixers, could not spend even a minute at the crease, leave alone opening his account in the match against Perth Scorchers on Tuesday.
Returned to the pavilion in 2 balls
Sydney Sixers, chasing the target of 148 runs against Perth Scorchers, were expecting a steady start from Babar Azam. But Babar Azam returned to the pavilion on the very second ball without opening his account. Babar wanted to play forward on the ball of bowler Cooper Connolly and came out leaving the crease. The ball eluded him and went into the hands of wicketkeeper Josh Inglis and he made no mistake in scattering the wickets. Babar returned to the pavilion for a duck (0).

World Cup may be cut off
Pakistan Cricket Board has not yet announced its team for T20 World Cup 2026. Looking at Babar’s recent performance, many dangers are looming over him. Babar has scored only 202 runs in 11 matches this season, his average and strike rate have been 22.44 and 103.06 respectively, and during this he has also scored two half-centuries. If Babar’s form continues, he may be shown the way out of the national team.
