Munmun Dutta was born in Durgapur, West Bengal. He has a master's degree in English. In Kolkata she used to perform as a child singer for All India Radio and Doordarshan. He started his acting career in 2004 with Zee TV's serial Hum Sab Baraati. Tarat Mehta joined the show Ooltah Chashmah in 2008 and is still seen in this serial. Apart from TV shows, he has also worked in films. Her first film was Mumbai Express with Kamal Haasan. In 2006, she was also seen in the film Holiday.
