Serious questions raised regarding fake certificate in Jharkhand Assembly

As proceedings began in the Jharkhand Assembly on Tuesday, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi raised the issue of use of fake certificates in medical colleges. He alleged that the Jharkhand Joint Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) was rigging the counseling by violating the guidelines of the National Medical Counseling Committee. Due to this, qualified and hardworking candidates are facing difficulty in enrolment.

Demand for CBI investigation

Terming the issue as extremely serious, Marandi demanded a CBI inquiry into it. He said that JCECEB is being negligent in linking the NTA website with counselling, which is an indication of collusion with the board officials.

Appeal to cancel counseling

He demanded immediate cancellation of the counseling process and fresh counseling. He said that the results of the entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) should be used for counselling, but this process is not being implemented properly.

Warning of opposition uproar

Marandi warned that if the government does not take the matter seriously, the opposition will have to create ruckus in the House as they have no other option.

Discussion on support price of paddy

Referring to the support price of paddy, he also said that the opposition had created a ruckus in the House on Monday. The result of this uproar was that the support price of Rs 3,200 per quintal was reduced to just Rs 2,450.
