Baby John, scheduled to release on December 25, 2024, is directed by Kaliesz. It is an official adaptation of Atlee's Theri (2016), which starred Samantha and Thalapathy Vijay in the lead roles. The Hindi version was expected to be another box office success, but what happened was disappointing.

Baby John grossed Rs 39.28 crore* nett in 16 days of its theatrical run. There is no update about the last two days as the collections have been very low. Amidst the huge competition, the action thriller has disappeared from the theatres. In many cities, shows have been removed. In major cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Chandigarh, only limited demonstrations are taking place.
There are lots of options at the ticket windows. Pushpa 2 and Mufasa: The Lion King are earning continuously. On the other hand, Game Changer and Fateh hit the theaters last Friday. South films like Marco are also entertaining the audience in the Hindi belt. Lastly, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is also registering impressive ticket sales. Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai has been re-released and there is also Sonic the Hedgehog 3, but they are not performing very well. Overall, Baby John will not be able to touch the 40 crore mark as it has almost completed its run.
Let us tell you, this film starring Varun Dhawan has been made on a budget of Rs 160 crore including promotion and advertising. It recovered only 24.55% of its total budget, making it one of the biggest Bollywood flops of 2024. Manufacturers are incurring a loss of approximately Rs 120.72 crore.
