New Delhi: New Delhi: Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan is eyeing to end 2024 on a high note at the Box Office with Baby John. The upcoming film, directed by Kalees, has generated significant buzz online, all thanks to its power-packed trailer.
The much-anticipated action thriller marks the 37-year-old star’s 18th film as a leading actor. It is said to be an adaptation of Atlee’s 2016 film Theri. For the unversed, the Tamil film – starring Vijay – was a major Box Office success and received positive reviews from critics.
Baby John also features Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, Zara Zyanna and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles. The film also introduces South Indian diva Keerthy Suresh to the Hindi film industry.
But did you know the cast of Baby John was paid handsomely for their performances? You will be surprised to learn that Varun received his highest ever paycheck for a film with Baby John. According to a timesofindia.com report, he earned Rs 25 crore for playing the character of DCP Satya Verma IPS/John.
On the other hand, Keerthy reportedly received Rs 4 crore for portraying the role of Meera Verma. Social media buzz suggests Jackie was paid Rs 1.5 crore, while Rajpal earned Rs 1 crore.
Baby John release date
Capitalising on the Christmas festivities, Baby John is all set to storm cinemas on December 25, 2024. Produced under Jio Studios, Cine1 Studios, Vipin Agnihotri Films and A for Apple Productions, the film revolves around a police officer who leaves no stone unturned to protect his family. Earlier, it was scheduled to clash in theatres with Sitaare Zameen Par. However, the Aamir Khan starrer was later postponed.
