Not only this, he has now refused to return to his homeland i.e. India.

Sentence completed, but fine added to the problem

Pakistani lawyer Faiyaz Ramey, who is defending Badal Babu’s case, has revealed the entire matter by releasing a video on the New Year. According to the lawyer, Badal is currently lodged in Lahore jail. Although he has completed his one year sentence, he will have to spend a few more days behind bars due to not being able to pay the fine imposed by the court. The lawyer said that the jail administration is taking care of Badal and he is staying in a separate barrack there.

Accepted Islam, now Badal wants to settle in Pakistan

The most surprising thing is that Badal has now started offering Namaz inside the jail and has converted to Islam. During the meeting with the lawyer, Badal clearly said that he no longer wants to come to India and wants to stay in Pakistan. He also pleaded that no harm should be caused to him. However, legal experts say that the rule is to deport any foreign national to his country after completing his sentence. The process of sending him back will be worked out through the Indian Embassy.

Could not meet girlfriend, increased tension in family

Sana Rani, for whom Badal had risked his life to reach Pakistan, did not even come to meet him in jail. After this revelation by the lawyer, Badal’s father Kripal Singh and his family in Aligarh are in deep shock. The father says that he does not even have enough money to pay his son’s fine. He has appealed to the Indian government to bring his son back safely. Kripal Singh told that the lawyer had promised to talk to him on video call, but till now he has not been able to talk to his son.

Badal Babu, a resident of village Khitkari in Aligarh, was caught in Pakistan on 27 December 2024 without any valid document. When he could not show the visa, he was arrested. On 30 April he was sentenced to one year in prison. Badal’s father had contacted Karachi-based lawyer Faiyaz Ramey, who is now handling the case. At present, there is uncertainty about Badal’s return home as he himself has refused to return.
