Most importantly, Balen Shah addressed five public meetings during the entire election campaign, in which he spoke for a total of 26 minutes. His party Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) crossed the absolute majority mark by winning 182 seats in Nepal’s 275-seat House of Representatives, after which he took oath as the Prime Minister of Nepal today.

Balen Shah kept meeting people in a very normal manner during the entire election campaign. In Janakpur he spoke in his mother tongue Maithili, while in the far west he gave the message in Doteli dialect. He did not go on stage and make tall promises, but kept communicating directly with the public. During the entire election campaign, the most special thing about Balen Shah was that he used to ask the public, have you drunk tea? Which vegetable did you eat today? Was the vegetable from our own garden or had it come from across the border?

These same questions of Balen Shah won the hearts of the people of Nepal and he emerged as a big leader there and his party won a big victory in the elections. It is being said that instead of giving long speeches and making election promises, he kept meeting people directly and talking about work, the result of which was clearly visible in the elections.

Gen-Z came into limelight after being an agitator
Let us tell you that Balen is the leader of Rashtriya Swatra Party (RSP). Nearly six months ago, the KP Sharma Oli government was ousted following violent protests by the youth-led Gen-Z movement against corruption, nepotism and social media restrictions. Balen has previously been the mayor of Kathmandu. He is also an engineer and has been giving voice to the problems of corruption and youth through rap songs.
