Balochistan Chief Minister elected as eighth chieftain of Bugti tribes – ..


Quetta (Balochistan) Pakistan, 29 December: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has been elected as the new Sardar (Tumandar) of the Bugti tribes as per the traditional tribal tradition. The turban tying ceremony (Dastar Bandi) will take place today in Bakar area of ​​Dera Bugti. Sarfaraz will be the eighth chieftain of the Bugti tribes. Tribal elders have prayed for his success, safety and leadership.

According to Dunya News report, with the completion of the traditional turban tying ceremony, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti will formally become the new chieftain of the Bugti clan. The ritual turban ceremony will involve all the Bugti sub-clans (Shambani, Kalpar, Mondrani, Pirojani, Nothani and Domb). Members of Nawab Bugti family will also participate in this program. According to tribal customs, the traditional turban tying ceremony will be performed.

Sarfaraz Bugti’s father Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti is counted among the influential people of the area. Mir Sarfaraz Bugti contested the 2024 elections on Pakistan Peoples Party ticket. He was elected Chief Minister unopposed. This appointment strengthens his political career as well as his tribal leadership.
